We met at Bugis to pray for the safety of our Taiwan trip. And, AS USUAL, both Uncle AND Pig were LATE! WTH?!?!

I was fuming as I hate people to be late!

What is worse is that I was working OT that day and I could woke up at 6.30 but they are late?! And, Iwan woke up late but he had the luxury to surf net! (Iwan was supposed to meet me at my office) His MSN nick popped up (which is kinda idiotic cos I am online lor!) at my computer which irked me since he is already late liaoz...

Bing Li took a cab to Bugis cos she knew she was super late and she knew I am fuming. I was kinda shocked when Iwan told me Pig is taking a cab since she is WELL-KNOWN for her giamness.

When I niao her once she arrived, her excuses drove me crazy.

Me:
Wat lau! Must you ALWAYS be late?!?!
You owe me 5, EIGHT, ice-creams on top of the 3 you owed me!
(cos we had an agreement, every 5-mins late = 1 ice cream)

Pig:
I already took a cab lor!
I over slept wat!

Me:
You over-slept my fault meh?
That excuse doesn't work lor!
You could have set your alamr clock wat!

Pig:
Nobody asked me to set alarm clock wat!

Me:
WTH?!?!
You need your mum ask you to eat or not?!

Pig:
Ya!

Me:
Speechless.

We checked into Swissotel, Level 55 after Bugis. Their service was superb. I started to wonder if it was due to our infamous complain king, Uncle Iwan's works. Iwan lodged a complain while making a reservation for the room and he talked to their supervisor.


Super nice! I love the room, I love the service, I love the SPLENDID view!

He even made special requests (such as high level room) to the supervisor. hence, when we arrived, the hotel personnel actually escorted us to the room! At level 55, we were greeted by another hotel personnel who greeted Iwan as Mr Irwan!!! OMG!!!

Being a self-proclaimed Complain King, I have not go to this extend lor! And I have not received such treatments either! HMPH!!!

Haiz...Too bad I am not a rich kid...

They arranged a room with splendid view for us! Simply breath-taking! I'm breathless!

The durian looks nice from this height! 55 floors leh! We are now at the tallest Hotel in South East Asia!

Such view really enhance relaxation. Or was it cos I am now at a 5-star hotel? Probably the latter... Muaahhaaaa...

Iwan is a very bad liar. He was told me that he intends to go to the adidas shop at Citylink to get a pair of shorts there. But there is a Adidas shop in Raffles City, the shopping centre which is right below where we live.

The moment we approach Gelare, I asked him:

Me:
Don't smoke me lah. You just wanna get me the Gelare's Birthday Cake right?

Someone please say I'm smart man! Muaahhaaa!

Lunch was at Giraffe. Foe those who are still in your own world and do not know where the hell is Girrafe or what the hell it is, fret not. Girrafe isn't the one living in the zoo. It's a 'branch' by Fish n Co, located right in front of Istana.

Ambience wise, it's kinda relaxing as we went there in the afternoon. Basically, it is empty during afternoon period. Most of ths dishes are available after 6pm. Anything before 6pm - Set Lunch. :(

Taste Wise - (-.-) Average only...

Variety Wise (-.-+) Very limited since it was lunch time.


Empty... Less than 5 tables filled...

Now, after introducing the restaurant, let me present some entertainment to you guys! We had a mini 'sword' juggling session by our beloved Uncle Iwan!

Don't 'pray pray'! Let me show you my prowess!

I ordered this cuppcacinno. Apparently, the foam forms the bulk of the cuppacinno. And it wasn't a cheap cup of cuppacinno ok!


See! The foam is thicker than the coffee! (-.-+)

The starter, New England Clam Chowder taste bland. I was seriously disappointed since it looks quite nice. In fact, their salad which pig ordered was way nicer!

Uncle ordered a caesar salad which tasted quite bad. He was immediately turned off... Haha!

He isn't a 'vege person'. And the looks and taste of this salad made it worse. I tried to helped him with the salad but it did taste quite bad...


Speechless... One Word - Bad...

I regretted not ordering the restaurant own specialty salad. It tasted much much much nicer than both the chowder and caesar salad!

I like the seafood thing! But we couldn't confirm what it is... Heehee...

The cheese lump taste off. But the sauce on the fries was nice!


MMMmmmmMMMmmmm...

Initially, I ordered this fungi linguine thingy. After seeing it, I was kinda 'turned on' since it really looks and smell delicious. But, seeing the bacon strips made me wonder whether the bacon is pork or beef.

Instinct tells me it is pork but I can't be sure. Hence, I asked the waiter and waitress. They weren't sure about it! I expect them to have basic knowledge of their products ok!

The waiter then told me it is beef.

Pig told me it's pork. She should know best since she is part of the family mah...

Uncle traded the Mustard Chicken with me since I do not eat beef. But the sandwich tasted average as well. In fact, all of us agreed that should we know that it's a sandwich, none of us would have ordered this.

I was very sure the potato chips came directly from Calbee Hot and Spicy chip!

The waitress and waiter here are damn solid! Very polite! Highly recommended!

I recommended the famous Samsui Chicken. Pig had to announce that she wants my recommendation before I actually recommended since she insulted my recommendation the other time.

This is a must-try should you go to Soup Restaurant!

The correct way is to dip the chicken in the ginger sauce provided before wrapping it in a pieace of lettuce leave. Superb! I'm drooling again...

The Kangkong here was only average. I din really like it as I find it a little saltish.

Took a cab back to the hotel. Apparently, the uncle droped us at the wrong place. To think he was so yaya about Swissotel, saying all the craps.

We din know this wasn't Swissotel but Raffles, The Plaza.

So we started taking the pictures and asking the bell boy to help us take pictures. Only to realise it's the wrong place...
